The Golden Elm Awards recognize those GElfun chapters whose programs are outstanding in meeting the purposes the Elfun Society.

Each year, awards are given to the chapters that have exhibited outstanding performance in the areas of community outreach, educational initiatives, partnering with outside groups, and other special areas designated by the Board of Directors.

Announcements of the awards are made at the annual Global Volunteer Leadership Conference.
