Instructions for News Story System

  1. These are the instruction pages for the News System. The system itself is at News Story System (only inside GE). Access is limited to chapter officers who have access to EIS (which is determined by the chapter), plus Communications Chairs and Webmasters.

  2. Stories may be input as plain text. No Web "HTML code" is needed.

  3. Stories MUST NOT contain email addresses, which are vulnerable to SPAM-producing robots. If your story must use such an email facility, the instructions for SPAM-free Email links MUST be followed. If email addresses are detected, they will be removed.

  4. Stories are uploaded to the external Elfun server each night between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Eastern US time.

  5. Stories older than 18 months will be removed.

  6. To see how to enter stories, GO TO STEP 1.

  7. Pictures are optional. If submitted, the news input system will enforce some rules:

  8. As an option, you can enhance the appearance and format of a story using HTML.

  9. All stories are formatted as follows:
